it's getting warm

yesterday was really warm, probably somewhere between 28- 34 for most of the day. we had a bit of bad news about fiji and it was a really hard decision to make but after talking to our parents and people we decided it was the best thing to do.

we've booked our flights to cairns and we head there on thursday, we plan on treating ourselves to a nice beachfront hotel for a few days to cheer us up about fiji. then possibly stay in the centre of cairns for a night or two before making our way down to the whitsunday islands for the second week... and we'll be back at marra's for christmas.

anyway, back to yesterday, we went to brons cafe in highton where gus, marra's friend works. the cafe and food were both really nice and gus gave us some excellent mates rates.

we also went down to kardinia park, the home of geelong football club (aussie rules) to have a look around.

after our little day out we went back to marra's and chilled out in the back garden...

we spent a lot of yesterday trying to sort out the fiji mess and are just glad that we have a good plan organised instead (though i am absolutely gutted about it still as you can tell by the hideous look on my face).

today has been another hot day so after we had sorted out the flights we went on a walk through the parklands, stopped for an iced chocolate (they are becoming quite an addiction) and a strawberry milkshake for greg.

as we walked past the geelong baseball ground we noticed an opportunity to show how bad the drought in geelong is. they are allowed to water the baseball ground as it is government funded. it apparently cost loads to build and would cost a hell of a lot to restore the ground. though this isn't to the liking of everyone as the local cricket and aussie rules ovals are looking very bad. the cricket season is being cut short by over a month and the amateur footy season is in doubt.

at marra's we have to save water all the time, no ones allowed to wash their cars by hand they have to go to a car wash where they recyle their water, you can only water the garden with grey water so we have a bucket in the shower which once full we use to water the plants. the drought is the biggest they have had since 1967 and on december 9th the water restrictions are due to go up to stage 4, which is unheard of.

the park we were walking in would be lovely if it wasn't for the drought, at the moment it all looks dry and dead... it still made for a nice walk in the sun though.

right now we are looking for a nice hotel to stay in in cairns and greg is watching the cricket.

hope everyone is well, love us x x x

You big girls blouse. Don't let a military coup put you off going to Fiji. If they start anything while you’re over there just tell them your Tiddy's brother.
Kell drove to OT on Wednesday night, good game, Rooney kissed his badge in front of the Everton fans, they all started singing about him being a banker which was strange as they know he plays football. Macka's got another X5 and has been driving for 3 days without stopping for food or sleep. Take care Bruv.
